Your Child's

College Now Day

Your high school student comes home and tells you he's signed up for College Now. How will participation affect his school day?

  1. Extra class time. Some College Now activities take place during school hours, but most occur before or after school. On rarer occasions, classes may even meet on Saturdays. Students who take a course at a college will also need to add in travel time.
  2. Extra work outside of class. College Now participants will need to do additional reading assignments, paper writing, etc. For many students, managing this increased workload can prove difficult. Fortunately, there are ways parents can support CN students as they rise to meet this challenge.
  3. Extra trips. CN classes or activities often stress the importance of hands-on experience. Sometimes this means leaving the high school or college campus to conduct an experiment in a chemistry lab, attend a play, or hear an author read from her latest book.

The good news: You don't pay for any of these extras—College Now is free to all eligible participants.
